Be part of it

This is a project aimed to bring people together in community spirit - so why not be involved?

Flame of Liberation Wageningen

Our aim is for the mother Freedom Flame, permanently based in Kingston upon Hull, to be taken as daughter Freedom Flames to wherever people would like to use it as a focal point for events to support charity and to promote comradeship.

On May 8th 2015, we will run a major event in Holy Trinity Church, Hull to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe, while simultaneously commemorating the 74th anniversary of the Blitz of the City of Hull. We have already collaborated in events to commemorate Operation Market Garden and opened Hull's Freedom Festival. Our future aims are to concentrate more on education.

The Flame will travel to Canada and Germany for the first time in 2015 and a particularaly poignant Flame will go to Auschwitz and Belsen concentration camps.

This is NOT a military project. Its roots lie in the liberation of the Netherlands but we wish to celebrate Freedom in many different ways. Freedom is essentially about human rights and the cooperation between people and nations that solves the worlds ills.

Are you involved in a group who would like to raise their profile? Come talk to us - we may just be the focus that you need.
